National Physiatry, Coral Gables, Fla., has named Deborah Oranchak, DO, medical director. With 19 years of clinical experience, she is a board-certified specialist in physical medicine and rehabilitation.
Oranchak has experience in treating patients in the acute rehabilitation setting, hospital, and long term acute care hospitals, as well as the outpatient setting.
As a physiatrist with National Physiatry, she is currently working in the subacute rehab setting in multiple New Jersey locations. She enjoys working in conjunction with the primary medical teams and therapy staffs to help coordinate patient care and discharge planning.
Oranchak has an interest in post-COVID-19 rehabilitation and multidisciplinary care, as well as non-narcotic pain management and the use of modalities in order to relieve discomfort. Her goal is to assist in the prevention of hospitalizations and readmissions and improve patient outcomes for individuals who are recovering from illness or injury.
“Increasing knowledge and skill are required to provide comprehensive care to today’s older patients with chronic and complex needs,” said Oranchak. “With an emphasis on continuity in care planning, shared intervention and outcome goals, multidisciplinary teamwork allows us to more efficiently improve patient outcomes with an individualized, patient-centered approach.”
Oranchak previously worked as a physiatrist with several medical and rehab care companies. She also served as assistant professor of physical medicine and rehabilitation at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey School of Osteopathic Medicine in Stratford, N.J.
Integral Senior Living (ISL), Carlsbad, Calif., a provider of senior living management services, and Solstice Senior Living (SSL), a joint venture of ISL and NorthStar Healthcare Income, have named Kris Morimoto vice president of risk management. Morimoto comes to ISL after more than eight years at Propel Insurance.
In her new role, Morimoto will lead strategic initiatives to manage the group’s insurance programs to optimize coverage options, in addition to developing, implementing, and maintaining the company’s risk management program for all community and corporate locations.
“Having someone of Kris’ caliber in this position will ensure that we continue providing the very best senior living experience at all of our communities across the country,” said Collette Gray, ISL and SSL president and chief executive officer.
Morimoto has held several positions in risk management. She began her career as vice president at Marsh Services, and she recently worked at the Partners Group and then Propel Insurance. Her duties included attracting and retaining clients, while also providing risk management consulting.
Waltonwood Cotswold, a family-owned senior living community in Charlotte, N.C., is pleased to announce Eric Davis as its new executive director. He brings nearly 10 years of experience to his new role.
Davis began his work with the Waltonwood organization in 2015 as a third-shift wellness nurse at Waltonwood Providence. During his time with the community, Davis was promoted to assisted living wellness coordinator, which allowed him to work directly with residents and their family members. Through this role, he realized that he wanted to continue growing within the Waltonwood organization, and in 2019 he was promoted to the associate executive director role for the southeast region.
Davis began his nursing career in a variety of roles, such as a caregiver, med tech, wellness nurse, and resident care director. He served as an enhanced assisted living coordinator at a senior living community in Penfield, N.Y., before joining the Waltonwood family. He enjoys being able to care for the residents while also diving into the operational side of the organization.
“Our aim in all that we do is to ensure high-quality care and services to our residents and make a difference in their lives. It’s this goal that I will keep in mind as I continue to develop relationships with the residents and exceed expectations during their time with us,” said Davis.
Juniper Communities, Bloomfield, N.J., has named the members of its regional leadership team for Texas: Daniel Nixon will serve as regional director of wellness and Kelly Eben as regional director of finance.
Nixon is a board-certified geriatric nurse who has spent most of his career as a director of nursing for geriatrics. In his role as regional director of wellness, he will be overseeing all things clinical in nursing on the assisted living and skilled nursing side of Juniper’s Texas communities.
He will ensure resident/patient handling, implementation of Juniper’s policies, nursing care, and Signature programs.
Eben will support and oversee the business side of operations in Texas, including human resources, payroll, and accounts payable/receivable. She has been working in long term care for more than 20 years, always on the business side. Since joining Juniper, she has received her Texas Assisted Living Certification.
