National Infection Prevention Forum
12/1/2025
In an effort to foster collaboration and sharing of experiences between infection preventionists in long term care facilities across the country, AHCA/NCAL partnered with the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC) to establish the National Infection Prevention Forum (NIPF). It is open to all long term care professionals focused on infection prevention, regardless of their membership in AHCA/NCAL or APIC.
Through the NIPF, participants can ask questions of APIC and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention subject matter experts, and they also can share questions, information, and best practices with each other. Additionally, several resources have been developed for participants to download and use, such as hot topics and clinical scenarios. These resources include Tips for Meeting the Linen Requirements in Skilled Nursing Facilities, Clinical Scenarios: Enhanced Barrier Precautions, and Hot Topic: Measles.
Cathy Ciolek said, “We developed a community where IPs and others could talk to each other, ask and answer questions, and have a sense of community. We recognize that the same issues are happening in facilities across the country, and we share resources.”
