AHCA's Board Extends Parkinson's Contract by Three Years, With Option for Two More

American Health Care Association (AHCA) Board Chair Michael Wylie on Oct. 14 announced that the association's board of directors has agreed to extend President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mark Parkinson's contract by three years, with a mutual option for a two-year addition.

Wylie broke the news during the opening of the AHCA/National Center for Assisted Living annual convention in Orlando.

In comments about the contract extension, he said Parkinson has been a tireless advocate for long term and post-acute care providers and their residents, and been recognized for his work, having been named, for example, as six-time winner of The Hill newspaper's Top Lobbyist award and a most influential leader in health care by Modern Healthcare. And, Wylie said just this year Parkinson was named a Top CEO by The Washington Post.

"As a former owner and operator of long term and post-acute care facilities, for more than 10 years, Mark truly understands what is important for our members and residents and continues to inspire members to provider quality care to residents," Wylie said.
