HHS Releases List of SNFs to get Point-of-Care COVID-19 Test Devices

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has released the list of the first 636 skilled nursing facilities (SNFs) set to receive point-of-care COVID-19 test devices to improve providers’ ability to prevent the spread of the virus.

As HHS said previously, the first recipients of the testing machines will be in so-called “hot spots” around the country where COVID-19 is spreading most rapidly and in great volume. A look at the list shows a large number of SNFs in such hot spots like California, Florida, and Texas are getting devices, along with facilities in Alabama, Arizona, and North and South Carolina, among other states.

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services has also provided information about their methodology for prioritizing facilities and a listing of the facilities, as well as a list of frequently asked questions.

In other developments, HHS has
formally extended the COVID-19 pandemic Public Health Emergency for another 90 days. Read More

Also, HHS has released a framework for more detailed Provider Relief Fund reporting guidance and materials to be released on Aug. 17. Read More

And, the agency added FAQs further defining which funds may be moved among Tax Identification Numbers and lines of care as well as providing preliminary information on Provider Relief Fund audits. Read More.
