 20 To Watch: A Call For Nominations

There’s no denying it—the people who work in long term and post-acute care are committed and compassionate individuals who believe that caring for the elderly and people with disabilities is a noble profession, even a calling.

The Search Is On

Provider wants to recognize some of these folks in a new feature, 20 To Watch, to be published in the January 2013 issue, with follow-up features in the February and March issues. The selected individuals will be profiled in the magazine, and a page on this website will be dedicated to the feature.
This is where you come in: Help us Identify men and women, maybe someone you work with, who have both the compassion and the vision to make a lasting impact on the profession. Note that we are NOT looking for the usual “Most Powerful” list of people. Instead, we want folks who are on the rise and worthy of "watching."

Who Is Eligible

Nominees may include, but are not limited to, the following: nurse assistants, activity directors, therapists, housekeepers, administrators, directors of nursing, social workers, researchers, physicians, nurse practitioners, and dietitians.

Also eligible are those who work for companies that serve long term and post-acute care providers, including suppliers and contractors.
A panel of judges, in addition to Provider’s editors, will carefully review each nomination and make the final determination based on the following criteria:
  • Helps residents and/or staff achieve their potential;
  • Displays leadership qualities or has recently begun serving as a leader within the profession;
  • Has implemented a program, or is working on a program, that has promise to positively impact residents and/or staff; or
  • Is a budding role model or mentor to others in the field.
