Cambridge Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in Moorestown, N.J., has appointed Michael Gallagher, DO, as director of its newly introduced Neuro Recovery program.
Board certified in neurology and clinical neurophysiology, Gallagher is affiliated with Cooper University Health Care’s divisions of neurology and physical medicine and rehabilitation. He also serves as the assistant professor of neurology at the Cooper Medical School of Rowan University.
In addition to consults with Gallagher, Neuro Recovery program participants benefit from the care of Cambridge’s interdisciplinary team, which includes specialized rehab nurses and physical, speech, and occupational therapists, as well as a care navigator, nutritional counselor, and recreation specialist.
“I am pleased to work with Cambridge’s talented team in supporting recovery milestones for subacute patients and long term residents,” said Gallagher.
The Georgia Health Care Association has named Chris Downing as president and chief executive officer (CEO). Downing possesses nearly three decades of experience in promoting health care policy initiatives at the state and federal levels and a strong track record in driving organizational success.
Downing most recently served as vice president of government relations for Enhabit Home Health & Hospice, one of the nation’s largest home health and hospice providers. He also served in the same capacity for Kindred At Home and PruittHealth Corp. In these roles, he was responsible for overseeing all federal, state, and local government relations efforts. He also directed all legislative strategies related to Medicaid, Medicare, and regulatory matters.
Downing has also served in senior-level positions at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, where he provided executive leadership on issues related to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, Public Health Preparedness, the Food and Drug Administration, Health Resources & Services Administration, and the National Institutes of Health.
Collingswood Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in Rockville, Md., has appointed Truong Bao, MD, CMD, as medical director, and Sayed Elsayyad, MD, as subacute medical director. The announcement of these two key clinical leadership appointments follows the recent completion of a $7 million modernization at the 160-bed skilled nursing facility, which provides post-hospital care, short term rehabilitation, and long term residential care.
Bao and Elsayyad each possess deep experience in geriatric medicine. The board-certified physicians are affiliated with Montgomery Medical Associates, PC, where Bao serves as chairman of the board and Elsayyad as partner and chief medical officer.

Wake Robin, a life plan community and home based in Shelburne, Vt., has named Meagan Buckley president and CEO.
Buckley has served as the director of health and resident services at Wake Robin for five years and held the interim president and CEO role prior to her appointment. She is a licensed nursing home administrator who held leadership positions within the industry before joining Wake Robin’s staff.
Buckley succeeds outgoing president and CEO Martha Maksym, who led Wake Robin for three years, including through the COVID-19 pandemic, before retiring.
“I am beyond excited to take over this role and look forward to continuing as a member of the Wake Robin family, which is filled with lovely, caring, and kind people,” Buckley said. “I thank the community for its trust in me and look forward to our next chapter together.”
The Bluffs of Flagstaff, a Civitas Senior Living-managed community, has welcomed Heather McBride as its new executive director. McBride was in the U.S. Army medical field during Operation Desert Storm. She has more than 20 years of experience in financial management, banking institutions, private colleges, accounting, and senior living.
“I fell in love with senior living when I became a business office director eight years ago,” McBride shared. “I decided that I could never leave senior living and wanted to ultimately become an executive director.”
Memory care is McBride’s passion, and she regularly shares her experiences and her knowledge about dementia with families and employees.
