Temporary Pause in Nursing Home Care Compare Updates

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) announced
on Friday, August 15, 2025, they will temporarily pause Nursing Home
Care Compare updates. They noted the pause is related to their recent
transition to a cloud-based Internet Quality Improvement and Evaluation
System (iQIES). The memo states, “To ensure seamless integration and
maintain the highest standards of data accuracy, CMS will temporarily
pause monthly updates to the Nursing Home Care Compare Five Star Rating
System, as of July 30, 2025, continuing through September.”
This
will result in the information currently displayed remaining static and
will not reflect any updates. Regular updates are anticipated to resume
in October. CMS did remind providers that they are responsible for
continuing to post their most recent survey findings (2567) in a
publicly accessible area within the facility.
