Quality Awards

Long term care providers across the nation are dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for residents through the American Health Care Association/National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL) National Quality Award Program. Grounded in the Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence, this esteemed program drives improvement in leadership, strategic planning, workforce, customer service, operations, and knowledge management. Participants advance through three levels of recognition—Bronze, Silver, and Gold—each requiring a higher standard of performance excellence.

This summer, AHCA/NCAL announced the names of nearly 1,200 long term care organizations recognized with a 2026 National Quality Award—908 Bronze awards in 50 states, 259 Silver awards in 44 states, and an elite two Gold awards.

Organizations demonstrate a culture of continuous quality improvement and include routine comprehensive assessments of key performance metrics. Members at this level are among the best providers in the nation.
