Providers across the country have been investing in a variety of resources, efforts, and initiatives to grow the profession’s workforce, which, of all the health care sectors, was the hardest hit by the COVID-19 pandemic. The latest workforce data, available in the American Health Care Association’s new Nursing Home Workforce Report, reflect this investment. 

The nursing home workforce has steadily improved by several critical metrics: 

• Decreased agency usage.
• Lower turnover rates.
• Steady increases in wages for several caregiver positions.
